Energy Audit for SME’s Scheme by EWA

The Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) identifies Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as target consumers that form part of a policy which drives towards increased energy efficiency.  The Energy and Water Agency (EWA) is the entity that administers the implementation of Regulation 10 of the transposition of the EED, that is the Regulations related to energy auding in the Energy Efficiency Regulations (S.L. 545.33).   The Scheme is divided into two sections, the first to enterprises that can benefit from the De Minimis Regulation whilst the second is for enterprises eligible under the General Block Exemption Regulation. All SMEs can apply, however the grant varies between €1,000 to €5,000 depending on the size and the NACE Code under which the enterprise operates in.  Further information can be found on the Energy and Water Agency’s website https://energywateragency.gov.mt/energy-audits-for-smes/ or by phoning upon 2229 2558
